My (male) friend was recently raped and nearly everyone he knew either said it was his fault or he wasn’t actually raped. I can’t convince him that not all people think like this. Please reblog if you know that men can be raped just like women.

okay, think about it. what you’re saying is exactly what people say about women.. but when they say it about men, it’s not okay because he is a man.. I completely agree that both men and women are raped. what I don’t agree with is how you’re making it seem less important when a woman is raped. Just the thought of rape in general makes me cringe and all of my love goes out to your friend, please don’t misunderstand me on that. we should not attempt to equalize the idea and social acceptance of rape between men and women, but, instead, focus our attention on preventing rape.
